Falling is similar to rejection in advertising. Getting back up is a daily routine. (Unless that said fall requires you to stay within the confines of your bed for an entire year so you can eventually walk again. If that’s the case, wait a year, then get back up. NEVER GIVE UP! KEEP DISHING OUT THOSE IDEAS!)
Coming up with an idea in advertising is oddly similar to the pressure one feels when deciding in mid-air how to land on their feet. Don’t panic. You’ll think of something. I hope.
Pitching is just like dropping into a 22ft halfpipe at X Games. All eyes are on you, your name is on a big screen, pressure builds, and.... you’re wearing your special underwear.
My mom would always say, “The best tool you can have in the backcountry isn’t in your backpack, it’s you.” Trusting yourself saves lives and in advertising, it’s all you have.
